NoahBoddy Returns

Monday, January 27th, 2003

NoahBoddy is back, with a new site and new resolve. What's in store for the players of this unconventional ARG? What evils await the Lady Selene, the Reverend, the Librarian, and Mike Fox? Who the heck is Noah Boddy anyway? Only time will tell. Unless you guys send me some feedback, then it'll be you who tells. How about that?

ARG Merger Finalized

Sunday, January 19th, 2003

Some amazing and possibly welcome news, courtesy of dmax:

After the failure of recent ARGs (with TerraQuest being the latest), the creators of smaller, less stable ARGs have agreed to ensure that their project will run to completion by pooling their extant web pages and creating an amalgam of their plot lines to include the stories.

The new hybrid game, "Driven by NoahBoddy to Chasing Anastasia's Wish from Faradise to Jaded Media's TimeHunt" has yet to formally launch, but seems likely to appeal to a variety of players. At this point, there is no agreement within the Conference of PuppetMasters as to whom will take charge of the project, but most agree that it won't be an easy job.

A discussion group has already formed at Yahoo, where some well-meaning souls are already posting lengthy essays regarding the use of 19th century chamberpots, the anthropormorphism of ginseng root, freeway patterns on eastern Interstate 10, and the likelihood that all these somehow hold the clue to the "mystery" that has yet to be announced.

Remember, you "heard it here first." And yes, this has been a Tongue in Cheek Production.

TerraQuest Throws in the Towel

Friday, January 17th, 2003

Sad news today from Mind Quest Entertainment. In an announcement posted to the main page of the TerraQuest site today (but oddly dated yesterday), Keith Griffin announced that the game is ending prematurely, citing a lack of participation. All registered players have already begun receiving refunds of their registration and any express clue charges they paid. The first period winner was Roland Spencer of San Diego, California, who was awarded the $25,000 prize.

Straight from the horse's mouth:

To the Players of TerraQuest

We want to thank you for your enthusiasm in playing TerraQuest. While the comments from those of you who are players have been wonderful, there is simply not enough participation in the experience to keep this version of TerraQuest going. As a result, we will discontinue TerraQuest immediately.

By discontinuing TerraQuest now, we can take the compelling storyline and combine the user and editorial feedback to modify the structural part of the game. We thank you for your support of TerraQuest and we look forward to providing you with more entertainment options in the very near future.

Since its inception, MindQuest Entertainment has prided itself on its integrity and providing exceptional entertainment value to you, our customers. As a result, all registration fees and express clue charges will be refunded in full to each player and the winner of the first Game Period (Roland Spencer of San Diego, California) has received the $25,000 prize. Thanks again for you participation in TerraQuest.

Most Sincerely,

Keith Griffin
